Questions
- How many wedding guests will actually come?
- About 85% of a local Saturday guest list says yes. RSVPify reports that about 17% of wedding invitees decline. Guests who travel decline more often, and a destination wedding can lose about a third of the list.
- What changes the number?
- The day (a weekday costs about 7 points against a Saturday), an adults-only list (about 5 points) and travel (a destination costs about 16). Then about 5% of yeses miss the day itself, more when guests fly in.
- When should the RSVP deadline be?
- About four weeks before a wedding, two weeks before a shower, and one week before a birthday or party. Caterers and venues usually want final numbers about two weeks out.
- Should I plan for the low number or the high one?
- Book seats and food for the top of the range, then confirm with real replies before you pay the final bill.
- Is the calculator free?
- Yes. No account, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
