Terms

Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Paper&Seal, the digital invitation service at paperandseal.com. By creating an account or sending invitations through the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Paper&Seallets you design digital invitations, send them to your guests by email or by sharing each guest's private link, collect RSVP responses, and follow delivery and reply activity for your event. Features vary by plan, and the service is under active development, so details may evolve over time.

Your account

  • Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • You must be able to form a binding contract to purchase a plan.
  • You are responsible for the content of your invitations and for the guest information you upload, including having the right to use it.

Acceptable use

Paper&Seal is for genuine invitations to people you know. In particular, you agree not to:

  • Send unsolicited messages. Invitations may only be sent to people you know and who would reasonably expect to hear from you about your event, never purchased lists or strangers.
  • Use the service for anything unlawful, deceptive, harassing, or harmful, or to send content you do not have the right to send.
  • Misuse guest information or tracking data. It exists so you can manage your event, not for any other purpose.
  • Probe, disrupt, or circumvent the service's security or limits.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, including to protect the deliverability of every other host's invitations.

Plans and payment

Paid plans are one-time purchases per event, at the prices shown at the time of purchase. There are no recurring subscriptions and no per-guest fees. During early access, plans may be offered for free; features included in a free early-access plan may change at launch. If something ever goes wrong with a purchase, contact us and we will make it right: support@paperandseal.com.

Your content and your guests' data

You own the content of your invitations. You grant us the licence we need to host, format, and deliver that content to your guests and to operate the service. Guest information and RSVP responses are processed on your behalf as described in our privacy policy; as the host, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to invite your guests and to collect their responses.

Availability, delivery, and changes

We work to keep the service available and reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we will be thoughtful about changes that affect events already in flight.

In particular, we are not responsible for issues with your invitations. We cannot guarantee that every invitation is delivered, displayed, or opened as intended: email delivery depends on your guests' mail providers and spam filtering, and how an invitation looks depends on each guest's device and software. You are responsible for previewing your invitations before sending and for confirming important details with your guests. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from an invitation that is delayed, undelivered, filtered to spam, displayed incorrectly, or that contains errors in the content you provided.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Paper&Seal and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including applicable consumer protection law.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and may ask us to delete your account and data. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms; where reasonable, we will warn you first.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to another venue.
