Here are 75 questions about the groom, two ways to play them, and how to keep score.

Two ways to play

Guests guess the groom. At a bachelor party, a stag or a mixed shower, guests answer questions about him and he reads out the real answers. Whoever knows him best wins.

The bride guesses the groom. The classic shower version. A week before, the groom answers the questions on paper or on video. At the shower the bride guesses each answer, and his real one is read or played back. A wrong guess often comes with a small forfeit, like a sip of her drink or a sweet from the bowl.

Swap in his name, and "partner" or a name where we say bride.

Before the party

Pick 15 to 20 questions and send them to the groom a week ahead. Ask him to answer honestly and quickly; the first answer is usually the funniest. Video works best for the shower version: one clip per question, played after the bride guesses.

For a bachelor party

Keep the questions above, then add a round only his friends can answer: his worst night out, his most embarrassing story from a trip, and who in the group he would call at 3 a.m. Read anything risky out loud only if everyone in the room would laugh, including him.

How to run it

Printed sheets. Our free How well do you know the couple quiz takes your own questions and prints a guest sheet plus an answer key. Retitle it for the groom. Twenty questions take about 15 minutes.

Read aloud. For a big group, the host reads each question, guests shout or raise hands, and the groom (or his video) answers last.

On their phones. On The Invitation and up, a Paper&Seal invitation can carry the quiz itself, with a leaderboard guests can check.

Prizes. A six-pack, a candle, or first pick of the dessert table. A tie-break: closest guess to how many days until the wedding.
